ogay, i've been camera-hunting for the past fortnight. i wanna explore further into photography. i wanna take up this hobby seriously. i know this isnt a cheap hobby.. but heck, who cares... money and time is needed for this.. almost everyone has a hobby.. so, i was wondering, whats mine? i dont want common hobbies like. . . stamp collecting (?) .. cap collecting.. 'playing soccer...'.. or (state your hobby) ... i want something uncommon and FUNnnnn.... like, go-karting.. golf(?).. but woow!!!. those are pocket burners! at least for photography, its not that setbacking and i've some hands-on experience.. like my [stupid] Point-and-Shoot cameras. -_- . well, i've still got muchhh more to learn.. like aperture/depth of field... shutter speeeeds... exposure settings... different types of lenses.. andd sooo muchhh more! OH. i cant wait to own a slr!
here, i narrow to two choices. CANON VS NIKON. - the two superpowers! aha!
first-up.. the nikon D60.
d60 uses nikkor AF-s VR(vibration reduction) lenses... so, the older and of course cheaper nikkor AF lenses cant be used on this body. well, not cant. but some functions such as the autofocus will not work. err.. 10.2 megapixel.. bla bla.. 3fps continuous shooting.. (zzz) .. some stupid dust repel thingy in the body... the kit will comes with AF-S DX NIKKOR 18 to 55mm f/3.5-5.6G lens.. it will set me back $988, not bad. but my cuzzie bot during some promotion... she got 2 lenses... the 18 to 55mm and some telephoto lens, tripod, case... for a whooping $1.6k. thats not bad considering during the time she bot, d60 just came out...which was in mid feb this year.
pros and cons?
pros: uses SD card. (i have tons of unused SD memory card). user-friendly.. (experience it b4). CHEAP-est.. able to upgrade to high-end nikkor lenses used in high end dslr such as D300.. small-est body.. some eye detection that when u put ur eyes to the view finder it switches off the LCD screen..
cons: dont have live view? 2.5inch LCD screen.. dont have internal anti-shake? dont have internal auto-focus system.. anddd.... idk =/
----------------------------------
second up! the Canon EOS 450D/Rebel XSi
many people says nikon makes the worlds best dslr.. even my cousin. well, its up to individuals who choose which suits them best.. if nikon is the worlds best dslr, why does even people bother to get canon? he he. this body has more features than the d60. but it will cost me a whooping $1.2k with the kit... standard 18 to 55mm wide-angle lens.
pros and cons?
pros: 3 inch LCD screen.. posses a body structure like its bigger brothers - EOS 50D.. SD card.. DIGIC 3.. 12.2 megapixels.. 9pt autofocus.. internal vibration reduction.. internal autofocus.. and same eye detection thingy..
cons: SLOW when processing image using the live view! ZZZ! expensive!!
.............well, if else fail, ill get another point and shoot camera.. prolly the canon powershot G10 or the powershot SX10 IS... with limited SLR features such as aperture priority, shutter priority... manual... and NO INTERCHANGEBLE LENS! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! GOD. PLS HELP!
haha. thats it!
